Hey! Want a great opportunity to get away this summer and have some fun??? Preliminary applications are now being accepted for the Northwest Youth Leadership Conference at Pacific Lutheran College in Parkland Washington. The conference is free for selected participants and takes place from June 22nd to June 26th. Students from California, Washington and Oregon will spend the week studying the varied aspects of leadership, going on fieldtrips and meeting many interesting “spokespersons.” See Mr. Scribner in the SSC for more info.
There will be a mandatory meeting for all students taking IB art for the first time in 08-09. Come to room 357 Thursday, May 15 at 8:30 a.m. Please be on time and bring your blue note! Come and celebrate Curbstock, a day of peace, music and fundraising for PPS on Sunday, 5/18, 11am. To 7 pm at Oaks Park. Attend this event with family and friends. Student tickets are $10 in the business office or $15 at the gate. Adult tickets are $15 in the business office or $20 at the gate. See you there!

Come to the NW Youth Career Expo! Thursday, 5/8 from 8:30 to 11:00 at the Oregon Convention Center. If you’re interested in the health care, construction or technology, there will be hands-on events and learning for you during this time. Some employers will be ready to offer graduating seniors a job. Bring your resume. Use this for one of your required CRLEs! Pick up a field trip form in the main office or the bulletin board outside room 230 or from your counselor. Due Friday 5/2 to your counselor or Mr. Monroe.

CAREER PATHWAYS
Class of 2008 and 2009: Be a writer for Student Paths newspaper! Student writers write three to four articles for publication over the course of the school year. Topics cover your life as a student – things you’re dealing with, preparing for and stressing about. Our student writers write for either our diary of Senior department or our Real Story on Life After High School department. If interested, pick up an app from the bulletin board outside room 230.
